Re: BEER. it’s what’s for breakfast … and lunch … and dinner

Although The Weekly has never been a highly professional news article, I have enjoyed feeling connected with my Gustavus community through its articles.

However, the previous release of The Weekly took an unprofessional and unacceptable turn in splitting the community with their main article. Why are we writing articles about what is wrong in our community when we could be writing to bring our community closer together?

Are we really so ungrateful about our College that we want to show prospective students we disrespect it?

When we write about problems in the community, are we actually avoiding the “real” issue? Is it about the alcohol or something else?

I challenge you Gustavus, what is the underlying issue behind this? Are we caught up in being self righteous individuals? Or are we not taking care of our community? Better yet, what does that even mean?
