Arbor View Apartments

The Arbor View Apartments house 59 students in apartment-style living. Each apartment contains a living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining room and a kitchen. All apartments are fully furnished and have computer access. Washers and dryers are provided in each of the two buildings.

College View Apartments

The College View Apartments house 138 upper-class students. Each apartment has two bedrooms, a kitchen, one or two bathrooms and storage. The apartments are fully furnished, including a table and chairs for dining. The building contains laundry rooms, a computer room, several common lounges and study spaces.

Complex

Complex is made up of three buildings: Sorensen, Gibbs and North Halls. The three combined halls house 460 upper-class students with 190 spots in both Sorensen and North and 80 students housed in Gibbs. Each hall has four floors with double occupancy rooms arranged along corridors. Complex overlooks the Gibbs Tennis Courts.

International Center

The Carlson International Center brings together three separate programs: the Crossroad Program, Swedish House and the Center for International and Cultural Education. The building houses 70 students in suite-style units with four people per suite plus eight students in the Swedish House. Single and double occupancy bedrooms are available. Each suite contains a bathroom for four occupants. A large community room, kitchen and floor lounges provide unique gathering spaces for residents.

Prairie View

Prairie View Hall is the smallest residence hall on campus and is reserved for students pledging to live in a “substance-free” environment. It houses 54 students in double occupancy rooms arranged along corridors. The hall contains a computer room, lounge and two study rooms. Prairie View is the most centrally located residence hall, near the Chapel, Schaefer Fine Arts Building and Olin Hall.

Rundstrom Hall

Rundstrom Hall is a two-story building housing 90 upper-class students in double-occupancy rooms on alternate floors. Residents enjoy a large lounge/television room, computer room and kitchenette. Rundstrom also has a small chapel located within the building, the only dorm on campus with this feature.

Sohre Hall

Sohre Hall houses 190 students, featuring double-occupancy rooms arranged along corridors. Housing mostly first-years, Sohre has a small number of double rooms for upper-class students on the third and fourth floors. It is located on the south side of the campus and contains a large lounge, television room, kitchen, computer room and study room.

Southwest Hall

Southwest Hall houses 190 students and also provides a hostel space for off-campus groups and summer programs. The hall is configured with four person, two bedroom apartments, including a kitchenette and bath on three levels of its south wing. On each of the three levels of its west wing, the hall has suites comprising of either four or six individual student bedrooms, a lounge space and one or two bathrooms.

Uhler Hall

Uhler Hall was originally designed on the Harvard plan, with six stairwells/entrances opening to a common interior courtyard. Today, it houses 185 upper-class students living in suites. Three different sizes of suites are available, accommodating between two and six students. The lower level houses a kitchen, study room, computer room, television room, laundry and lounge. Housing priority is given to juniors and seniors.

  1. Are meal plans still available for people planning on living in Uhler, College View and/or Arbor View? How many people are accomidated for in Arbor and College View suites? When are the application deadlines?

      Thanks for the comment.

      The Dining Services website states that students living in Uhler must be on a meal plan. It also says that students who live in college apartments can put funds in a declining balance account by visiting the Student Accounts Office.

      I think all of the Arbor View and College View apartments accommodate four residents. The Residence Hall information page on the Residential Life website might help you out. It contains a lot of information about each residence, including floor plans for each room.

      Residential Life sent the application deadlines to students via E-mail on Nov. 29. They are copied below and also available on the Residential Life website.

      – December 13, 2010: Off-campus Informational meeting (1st of 3) – attendance at one of these is required in order to apply to live off-campus

      – February 15-17, 2011: Requests for off-campus permission online through WebAdvisor
      – March 8-10, 2011: Requests for 4-person units (Uhler quads, apartments, suites) online through WebAdvisor
      – March 22-24, 2011: Requests for 3-person units (Uhler, Rundstrom) and singles in Southwest online through WebAdvisor
