Facebook is a very popular website, even rivaling Google in popularity. The Weekly has been on Facebook for a while now, bringing you news right to your newsfeed, sandwiched between those pokes and Farmville notifications.
I recently received a coupon for free ads from Facebook. I was kind of surprised to get a note of this nature, and was even more surprised when I found out it was real.
So, I decided to try it out, and placed some ads advertising The Weekly’s Facebook page.
Ads similar to the one you see on the right side of the example page above may appear when you are on Facebook during the next couple of weeks. The ads are targeted towards people who have indicated a connection with Gustavus on Facebook and who do not already like The Weekly’s page.
So far, the ads have been shown more than 1,800 times.
This ad campaign has been designed such that it fits within the limits of the coupon and will not cost The Weekly anything.
