Tyrone Wells Concert

A musical Chris Draughty look alike, a guitar and an amazing voice are all features that will be coming together very soon. All the way from Spokane, Wash., Tyrone Wells will be entertaining Gusties during the homecoming concert on Sept. 22 at 8:00 p.m. in Alumni Hall.

Having been surrounded by family members who were heavily involved in music, Wells became musically involved, as well. He pursued his passion for music as he grew up, but it wasn’t until college that Wells decided to make it a career, and now he is both a singer and a songwriter.

Wells has admitted to having had stage fright, which is shocking to hear, given his incredible amount of onstage confidence. His smooth voice has made him very popular; his songs have been featured in television shows like Intervention, Grey’s Anatomy and Ghost Whisperer, as well as the movie My Sister’s Keeper, to name a few.

Wells’s music has been dramatically influenced by R & B and Gospel music genres and has admitted to having secretly listened to love songs, which have also influenced the style of his music. His lyrics are mostly about love, family and God.
Tyrone Wells was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Over the years, hard work, persistence and hope have helped him reach his current success. These are the qualities that ground him, that make him seem “real” and not just another celebrity. This is one concert not worth missing.
