Who’s Feminist?

Recently I watched a short documentary on damn.com called, “Oppressed Majority,” which revolved around sexism against women from a man’s point of view, if “typical” roles were reversed. My first thought: ‘oh boy, here we go.’ Now, I’m not a feminist in the typical, actively-protesting fashion, but at the same time I like to be informed. I decided to spare ten minutes of my time … Continue reading Who’s Feminist?

Guns ‘n stuff

Most issues in this nation tend to buzz around with a highly controversial nature that everyone and their mother has an opinion on ranging from abortion to climate change. Needless to say, it can be pretty easy to forget the small things with simple fixes. Because let’s face it, it’s way more fun to get into an endless argument with your friends on whether or … Continue reading Guns ‘n stuff

No Strings Attached

It’s the thought that counts. Whether it’s a birthday, Christmas, or Valentine’s Day. No matter what you give or receive, it’s important to give genuinely. Of course, no one likes the spoiled kid who cries about not getting the newest iPhone, or the brat who tweets how much they hate their parents for giving them the wrong car for their birthday. Though many Gusties remember … Continue reading No Strings Attached

First-Year Olympics makes a come back

The First Year Olympics (FYO) have been a tradition at Gustavus for 11 years. The idea originally involved only the south side of campus, but in 2004, it was opened to the entire first-year community. FYO has been a longstanding tradition on campus, but they were discontinued a few years ago. Recruitment … Continue reading Gustavus fraternities and sororities begin recruitment

After coming to Gustavus from St. Cloud, Minn, Andrew worked hard to be a part of his field of interest: music. He auditioned and became a member of both the Gustavus Choir … Continue reading Gustie of the Week – Andrew Kendall
