Hunger Game
“The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer. For me life is continuously being hungry.” These are the words of former bodybuilder and Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger, who helped redefine bodybuilding as an international sport. Clubbing is not all fun and games
For many students involved with club sports at Gustavus, it would be nice if the famous Spider-Man quote “with great power comes great responsibility” worked the other way around. Student-led organizations require plenty of responsibility by their members, from group inception up until game time. Gustavus considers creating an African Studies minor
Three years ago, Rebekah Shulz (‘10) and Senior History Major Kareen Getfield began to seek support from faculty members in creating an African Studies major. By this time, both Macalester and Carleton were offering their own versions, so they thought that it would be a worthwhile endeavor for Gustavus to create a similar program. Upon hearing about this, Communication Studies Professor Martin Lang suggested that … Continue reading Gustavus considers creating an African Studies minor
