The Homecoming football game is always a special event, but this year it was more so. The game also marked the celebration of 100 seasons of Gustavus Football. Football alumni showed up in massive numbers. The alumni not only got to enjoy the game, but also take a photo with the current players and attend a large celebration in Alumni Hall afterwards.

Despite the Gusties’ loss, the environment at the celebration was cheery, as speakers from every era of Gustie Football reflected on their experiences.

Other highlights included a video of key plays throughout Gustie football history, a silent auction and trophies and memorabillia from all of the 100 seasons on the hill.

“The heritage of Gustavus football runs deep, and today we had a chance to celebrate the growth of the program and the strong athletic traditions that we’ve built here on The Hill,” Head Coach Peter Haugen said.
