Tip of the Week:
Two paintings have recently been stolen from campus buildings.
A picture was stolen from the Jackson Campus Center sometime prior to February 3rd. One piece of artwork resembling ink-blots was taken from a set of three donated pictures hanging in the Campus Center by the south east stairway. It is approximately 2 by 2 feet and is titled ‘Defy’.
A framed picture of King Gustavus gifted to the college in the early 1900s was stolen from the library between 5pm on February 10th and 6pm on February 12th. The image is sepia toned (not in color or black and white) and is about 4 feet tall by 3 feet wide, in a semi-ornate frame with a plaque at the bottom. It was taken from the stairway by the main entrance leading up to the third floor.
If you have any information on these stolen paintings, please contact the Campus Safety office at x8888 or use the silent witness form on the Campus Safety web page: https://gustavus.edu/safety/silentwitness/
