I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the students, faculty and administration who showed such overwhelming support for the 9/11 Never Forget Memorial last Friday. We had over 70 people help set up the flags and over 35 show up in the rain for the candlelight service. We will definitely continue to host this event in the future, as we have for years past.

We do hope that next year, for the 10th anniversary, The Gustavian Weekly will honor our nation’s heroes more respectfully than they did this year. The thousands who died on September 11, 2001 were just like us. They were on their way to work, preparing for big sales pitches and sitting down at their computers for a day of research when their lives were cut short. Some even actively sacrificed themselves in order to save us. They deserve better than what was published last Friday.
