The Gustavus Women’s Cross Country team got a strong start to its season, placing first and third in the first two meets. At Bethany Lutheran in Mankato, Minn. the Gusties took the top 19 finishing positions as they placed first out of four teams. The Gustavus Football team opened camp Aug. 21, 2010. The team has been building to improve upon a 2009 season that yielded a 4-6 record and a tie for fourth place in the MIAC Conference. Gustavus Senior hockey player David Martinson was the most accomplished male athlete in Gustavus athletics for the 2009-10 school year.
