Frost Week: February 20-23

After 28 years in hibernation, the old Gustavus tradition, ‘Frost Week’ is back. CAB is sponsoring this week-long theme of events.

Events include competitions such as window painting, family feud, cupcake decorating, variety show and even beard-growing. If the fun of participating isn’t enough, all of these competitions offer prizes for the top performing teams. Groups need to sign up to participate in the competitions at the SAO desk.

Frost week was a tradition at Gustavus between 1949 and 1984 and at the time had a “Frost Queen,” mock marriages and a hula contest. Although some of the events this year may be different the goal of the week is the same.

“This was a tradition that filled the campus with school spirit and fun activities. That’s exactly what the Campus Activities Board is trying to reinstate on our campus” Senior Lisa Klass said.
