Tip of the Week:

Thanksgiving/Winter Parking notes

•  Regular parking will be enforced during Thanksgiving Recess. Please park according to permit color and always assume that parking and traffic regulations are enforced when the college is open, even if classes are not in session.

•  Green and Yellow permit holders needing to park overnight must park in the purple section of the Arbor View lot.  Green and Yellow lots and rows are always no parking from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

•  Parking in campus fire lanes is prohibited. A 15-minute grace period is allowed when loading and unloading heavy items but you must have your flashers on as an indication of your imminent return, and be parked on the side of the street closest to the residential hall only. The exception to this rule is the Three Flags Circle, where parking is PROHIBITED at all times without exception.

•  As winter weather approaches, remember that parking regulations ARE enforced during inclement weather and a parking permit is required for students and staff to park on campus.  If you have any questions about parking, contact the Campus Safety office.

•  Mid-November through March, bike racks at Academic/Administrative buildings are no parking 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.  Bicycles parked overnight outside of these areas will have their locks cut and will be subject to storage fees. Please make arrangements to keep your bicycle at a residential hall bike rack, take your bike home for the winter months, or contact Campus Safety to reserve a time slot for winter bike storage at the Stadium (safety@gustavus.edu) before Thanksgiving Recess.

  1. If you think root beer pong is riuiculods you should try milk pong. I’m not joking. At the college I went to they actually advertised milk pong at one of the events. And it was not a dry campus. It was for the under 21s because apparently they didn’t trust us to come up with something to do. Of course you can start a petition. Whether it will go anywhere is up to the powers that be at your school. You’ll need good reasons such as the driving issue to support your case. Signatures aren’t necessarily enough. I think colleges should allow alcohol for those old enough because while underage drinking will occur at least it’s happening on campus. If underage students want to drink they will, whether or not they have to drive to get there. It’s safer if it’s on campus in my opinion.References :
