Junior Colleen Ruane (middle) and Senior Molly Mathiowetz (right) celebrate with Molly Geske after she scored her 1,000th career point in an 85-45 win against Augsburg. Geske scored 16 points in the contest, all coming in the first half. Her 1,000th point came on a runner in the lane with a couple minutes left in the first half. Geske has a career average of 13.3 points per game and leads the Gusties with 14.8 points per game this season. Geske has averaged double figures in points in her three seasons at Gustavus. With her 1,035 career points, Geske is in ninth place overall for the most points scored in a career.
The Gustie women won their first playoff game on Tuesday night against Bethel, 67-63 at Gus Young Court. The Gusties have won 13 of their last 15 ball games, including a six-game winning streak in the middle of the season.
