A long with most students who had the opportunity to see Sigur Rós  (pronounced “si-ur rose”) this past Thursday, Sept. 25, I am still trying to process what I experienced. The concert, which was held in downtown Minneapolis at the Orpheum, was performed to a sold out crowd and exceeded any and every expectation that I could have ever had. On the way to the … Continue reading Sigur Ros’ted: a show to end all shows

In his first collegiate game, he scored two of Gustavus’ three … Continue reading First-year Elliot Herdina proves his worth as Gustavus’s wide receiver

If you were at the Student Involvement Fair last week, you may have noticed a single table with a large, plain banner lying across it. The banner read, “Join the Gustavus Sauna Society.” It might have been the simplicity of the display, or the energetic board members standing behind it, or just the mention of sauna, but the table was swarming with interested undergrads. By … Continue reading Sweating it out with The Sauna Society

When I mentioned to a few friends of mine that I was going to interview fellow Gustie Lisa Brown, the first words that came flying out of their mouths were something like this: “Lisa…she’s hilarious!” followed closely by “she’s an amazing athlete; she went to the Olympic Trials for javelin throwing this year.” I had never met Lisa before, so I really had no idea … Continue reading Gustie of the Week: Lisa Brown takes a shot at the Olympic games
