Student charged for possession of explosive device

A felony complaint has been filed in Nicollet County District Court against former Gustavus student Timothy Shay. According to the complaint, Shay is accused of stealing two chemicals from a classroom in Nobel Hall with the intent to make an explosive device. Amid the furor over The Gustavian Weekly’s coverage of Case Day come actions and reactions. Theft and removal of copies of The Weekly in the wake of the annual Case Day coverage, which coincides with a scholarship weekend, has been a consistent theme of the past two years.
