Sam Frank has nearly completed another successful season as a member of the Women’s Tennis team, which should match her MIAC All Conference performance in 2010. Frank, a senior from Mahtomedi, Minn., recorded a 14-5 record in number one singles and a 15-4 record in number one doubles.

Her season was highlighted by a dominant individual season in the fall, which yielded an appearance in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Small College Championships in Mobile, Ala. After winning the Midwest Regional at Gustavus in October, an unseeded Frank outplayed a field of highly ranked opponents and finished second after fighting her way to the title match.

Frank contributed to Gustavus’s recent MIAC team title, a 5-2 victory over Carlton College. The Gustavus Women will play in the NCAA Regional Tournament at the University of Chicago this weekend as the number two seed.
