Plenty of new films from a variety of different genres will be hitting the big screen here on campus, all free of charge for Gustie students.

One of the most exciting showings this season will be the critically-acclaimed box office success Wonder Woman.

Starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot, this film introduces the DC cinematic universe to a lethal superheroine with a decades-long reputation to uphold.

Despite the mainstream hype, some themes of this movie may pleasantly surprise you. Wonder Woman’s real-life alias, Diana, realizes her role as princess in a race of Amazonian women created by Zeus.

This plotline changes the game for modern superhero films by incorporating strong aspects of Greek mythology, chronicling Diana’s rise to power in the fight against Ares, a volatile god of war.

Do not miss this truly compelling flick; with a whopping 92 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Wonder Woman has already won the hearts of global audiences.

Head to the Arb at 8 p.m. on September 15 for an outdoor showing and again on September 16 in Wallenberg.

Probably the lesser-known movie on our list, The House (2017) will be available for viewing in the Wallenberg at 8 p.m. on September 22 and 23.

Starring household names Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell, this comedy follows a broke couple looking to make money for their daughter’s college tuition.

Obviously, they go with the easiest option; building an illegal casino in their basement.

Raunchy, ridiculous, and radically over-the-top, this movie possesses all the characteristics of a modern slapstick comedy.

For all the kids-at-heart on campus, Despicable Me 3 will satisfy your cuteness fix this October.

Continuing the adorable story of Gru and his band of minions, the third installment in the Despicable Me series presents a newcomer to the fold; Gru’s villainous twin brother, Dru.

After being fired from the Anti-Villian League, Gru must fight the temptation to return to villainy despite the revelation of his familial history in the evil industry.

With humor, cuteness, and strange accents to spare, Despicable Me 3 does not disappoint its waiting fanbase.

View this flick in the Wallenberg at any of these (four!) times: Friday, October 6th at 7pm and 10 pm, or Saturday, October 7th at 3pm and 7pm.

This event falls on Family Weekend, so bring your loved ones along, too! On the opposite end of the family-friendly spectrum, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) will be available in late October.

A decades-long cult classic, Rocky Horror features drag, drag, and more drag, all set to an infectious musical background.

Eclectically spooky, bizarre, and hilarious, Rocky Horror provides a timeless night of fun for anyone seeking the weirdly wonderful.

It will be open for viewing at the Wallenberg at 8 p.m. on October 27. And don’t worry; props are provided.

As for the November events, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) will be playing at 8 p.m. on November 3 and 4, and the anticipated horror remake It (2017) on November at 8 p.m. on the 17 and 18 at 8pm.
