The Best Female K-Pop Releases of 2026

Staff Writer- Emily Sustaita

-pop is all over the place. Whether it is BTS, Blackpink, or Huntrix, you have most likely listened to a song of this genre at least once in your lifetime. But how familiar are you with it beyond global stars? It’s easy to get caught up in what is presented to you, assuming K-pop is limited to just those artists. However, as an active listener, I can assure you that there is more to this 1990s-originating South Korean musical subculture than just its surface image. In this article, I compiled a list of some of the best female K-pop songs released so far in 2026, in hopes of presenting a more assorted image of the genre. (No male artists will be mentioned as I am not very familiar with them… sorry). So go grab your devices, and open up your favorite streaming platform—it’s time to listen to some new K-pop songs!

“MONO” by I-DLE

Starting off with an absolute powerhouse, “MONO” is by far one of the most influential songs that I-DLE has released. In contrast to their previous songs, “MONO” has a more laid-back and subdued sound. The music video has a minimalistic aesthetic and is displayed in black and white. It is this particular setup that allows the best part of the song to shine through: the lyrics. The lyrics beautifully promote the idea of acceptance and embracing ourselves and others for who we truly are. By doing so, the world, as the song explains, can unite as one, rather than separate because of our differences. Considering that this song is in English, this is a very accessible and meaningful song that will certainly make you feel warm inside!

“XO, Cyberlove” by Chuu

Ever since making her solo debut back in 2023, Chuu has been releasing bop after bop–this song being no exception from the list! The lyrics describe the experience of being in love with someone on a digital platform, and the struggle that comes along with it. It’s a song that evokes happiness, longing, and pain all within one sitting. With Chuu’s sweet and delicate voice, you will find yourself singing along with all your passion! Not to mention, the music video is a visual masterpiece, and really elevates the heartfelt quality of this song. If you don’t end up listening to this song, then what are you doing with your life? (Just kidding, but seriously, you have to listen to it!)

“Love Me More” by APINK

Ever since APINK released this song, many fans have said that this song is the return of the “K-pop sound”—and I couldn’t agree more! APINK debuted all the way back in 2011, yet they still maintained their signature sound after all these years. The lyrics are simple yet so sweet: they describe the desire of wanting a certain someone’s love, and the way that person’s love illuminates them. On top of this, the vocals are absolutely top-tier and gorgeous, adding onto this sweet expression of love. Along with that, the music video is so cute: the girls live underground in a bunker—away from the harsh winter—as they search for their lover. With the song’s bubbly yet simple sound, you will easily find yourself dancing along in joy!

“404 (New Era)” by KiiiKiii

Although a more recent K-pop group, KiiiKiii has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with. Rather than trying to fit into a pre-existing era, their song explores the concept of a computer error (404) leading to the creation of a new era. It’s a fresh concept which fuses UK house music with K-pop qualities. The concept of the music video is simple yet fits the theme: throughout the video, the girls try on different “versions” of what they could be, before settling into their own version of themselves. This is an empowering and hype song that will encourage you to embrace yourself for who you are!

“BANG, BANG” by IVE

Now, I couldn’t wrap up this list without mentioning the iconic girl group, IVE. They took South Korea by storm with their first song, “Eleven”, and continue to pull people in with this pre-released single. The song has a distinct sound to it; it has an electronic, “wild west” sound to it, which makes it so catchy! The lyrics are bold and add onto the ruthless nature that the sound aims to produce. Gauel’s line, “It’s explosive, it’s aggressive, it’s a little bit offensive, yeah, I said it,” is so iconic, and I can assure you that you will be quoting this line on a daily basis. The music video has a serious yet nonchalant vibe, and the highlight dance move is so fun! So go ahead, listen to this catchy song that is sure to provide you with internal strength and power!
