Helen, and Penandpaints – I don’t really know the anewsr to that. The guidelines don’t say they are not accepting stories from new writers, and they do say to mark your submission FAO Liz Smith if you’ve previously sold to them, both of which points imply they might be accepting stories from new writers. What you could try, is email the main myweekly email address asking for a copy of the current guidelines. If they send them to you, great, then I would feel free to submit. If they reply that they’re not taking submissions etc, then it’s bad news.
